What boudoir is and what to expect
Boudoir photography is an empowering, intimate portrait session that celebrates confidence, sensuality, and self-love. It’s about capturing you at your best—creative, bold, and authentic—through tasteful posing, flattering lighting, and a cinematic aesthetic.
Your session is collaborative. We’ll discuss your comfort level, preferred looks, and ideas before we shoot. My goal is to help you feel beautiful, respected, and in control of the imagery.

BEFORE YOUR SHOOT: PLANNING AND COMMUNICATION
- Start with a mood board: Gather 5–10 images that show the vibe you love (soft and romantic, dark and edgy, vintage pinup, etc.). Share these with me to align on style. - Choose your level of coverage: From implied to tasteful lingerie and wardrobe options, we’ll decide what you’re comfortable with.
- Hair and makeup: I can recommend trusted makeup artists and hairstylists who specialize in boudoir looks. Optional add-ons include full glam, natural enhancements, or bold styling.
- Scheduling and location: We can shoot in my Gardner, KS studio or at an on-location setting if you prefer. I’ll help pick a backdrop that matches your concept.
- Wardrobe planning: I offer a “dress up box” with curated pieces and props for a variety of looks. You can also bring personal items—lingerie sets, robes, jewelry, or meaningful props.
-
WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR
- Underpinnings: A few lingerie options in different silhouettes (catsuits, bodysuits, bras and underwear sets, corsets) in colors that flatter you.
- Robes and cover-ups: Sheer or satin robes for transitioning into shots. - Accessories: Jewelry, scarves, garters, tulle, gloves, hats, or veils to add visual interest.
- Personal items: A cherished item (heirloom, love note, favorite perfume) to tailor a concept around.
- General tips: Bring a couple of options for each vibe (soft, sultry, bold). Comfort is key—choose pieces that fit well and stay in place during movement.
-
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE SESSION
- Atmosphere: A respectful, empowering environment with privacy and clear boundaries. We’ll keep a relaxed pace—plus I’ll guide posing with clear prompts and demonstrations.
- Posing: I’ll help you find flattering angles and comfortable poses. If something feels uncomfortable, we’ll adjust immediately.
- Music and mood: We can curate a playlist to set the tone—romantic, sultry, or playful. - Breaks and communication: You control the flow. If you need a break, want to switch concepts, or need more guidance, just say the word.
- Safety and consent: All imagery will be treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality. We’ll review posing and wardrobe choices to ensure you’re completely comfortable.
-
PRIVACY, EDITING, AND DELIVERY
